Broadcasting right

Broadcasting right – Broadcasting right refers to the right to transmit copyrighted music to the public via various forms of media, such as television, radio, and online streaming. Radio stations, TV networks, and streaming services must obtain a licence from a performing rights organisation (PRO), collective management organisation (CMO) or directly from the rights holder in order to legally broadcast copyrighted music. These licences usually involve paying fees or royalties to the rights holders.

A synch licence typically includes broadcasting rights, allowing the visual media to be aired publicly. Depending on the territories where the broadcast is aired, multiple licences may be required.
