Europe in Synch is returning to where it all began:
For Westway Lab Showcase Festival & Conference (Guimarães, Portugal | 12-15 April) we invite professionals from the music and film industries to participate in a collaborative workshop to learn more about each others business areas. Experts from both sides will share insights and present important cornerstones of their work.

A day-long session at Westway Lab 2023 brings together professionals from the Music Side and the world of Filmmaking to learn about the respective “other side”. Experts from the “Film-side” will present insights to their work.

The workshop shall enable the participants to truly understand where and how music comes into the picture.

Agenda:

• The Music Side & The Film Side: Structures, processes and supporting the directorial vision
• The role of composed and licensed music
• Roles involved: Directors, Composers, Production Companies, Music Supervisors
• Mutual understanding and communication
• The way of music into a film: creation and decisions, opinions and input, the licensing.
• Supervisors/music agents: the in-betweens

*Closed session with limited number of participants. Synch experience and active participation required.

(Please note: Enrollment in this workshop requires registration for the highly recommended Westway Lab conference. Prior experience in the Synch field is required. Places for the workshop are limited)
