Synch fee – A synch fee is the amount that a client needs to pay in order to obtain a licence to use a particular composition in an audiovisual project (TV, film, advertisement, video game, podcast etc). The synch fee should be stated in the licence agreement and the fee is usually stated “all-in”, meaning the total fee to be paid for both the master right and the publishing right. However, synch fees can also be quoted on a “per-side” basis.
