Performer

Performer – a performer refers to an individual or group of individuals who interpret a musical work. This includes singers, instrumentalists, bands, orchestras, and other artists. Performers have the right to be compensated for the use of their performances and the right to control how their performances are used. These rights are protected under performance rights laws and neighbouring rights in copyright law.

Performers should register their works at the national Performing Rights Organisation (PRO) in order to collect royalties for the use of their performances, including performance royalties for public performances and mechanical royalties for reproductions of their recordings.
