Blanket licence

Blanket licence A blanket licence is a common option for licensing rights to perform musical works (whether in live performance or from a recording). A blanket licence, issued by a Colletive Management Organisation allows the user to play any song within the repertoire of the CMO. The repertoire includes works managed directly by the CMO as well as those from foreign CMOs with reciprocal agreements. A blanket licence eliminates the need to constantly check the copyright of each song before broadcasting, as it covers the vast majority of music a user might wish to play.
