Reproduction Right

Reproduction right – The reproduction right is the right to reproduce a copyrighted sound recording or works. This can be either in a digital format through streaming or downloading a digital file, or physical format through CDs or vinyls. The reproduction right belongs to the copyright holder of the master recording and the publishing rights and therefore all streaming services must have a licence from the rights owner. The copyright holders also have the right to receive royalties every time their musical work is reproduced.
