Economic Rights

Economic rights – Economic rights refer to the exclusive rights granted to authors and creators to monetise and control the use of their works. These rights encompass the ability to authorise and receive compensation for the public performance, reproduction, distribution, and other commercial uses of their creative works. The economic rights of authors are typically managed and administered by Performing Rights Organisations or Collective Management Organisations.

Economic rights are protected under national copyright laws and international agreements such as the Berne Convention and TRIPS Agreement, which provide uniform standards for copyright protection and enforcement globally.
